What Are Chakras?

The word “chakra” translates from Sanskirt to “wheel” or “disk” and refers to the 7 main energy centers that are spinning like wheels in our bodies, from the base of our spine all the way up to the crown of our heads.

These energy centers work to unite our mind, body and spirit, with each of them having a unique function, which we will dive in a bit.

Why Chakras Get Out of Alignment

All of our chakras determine and regulate the flow of energy throughout our bodies. When a chakra becomes unbalanced, it’s due to an imbalance in energy flow, which manifests as physical, mental and spiritual symptoms related to the chakra.
