Reiki and Vortexes

This summer I was able to visit several places that are considered to have naturally occurring vortexes. A vortex is an area of swirling energy that contains more energy, from the earth, than other locations. Vortexes are often considered areas of great spiritual healing and rejuvenation and are located near sacred sites, rock outcroppings, or near water.

A vortex is like an energy powerhouse. It can help realign your chakras, cleanse your aura, increase your psychic abilities, or create a connection to your Guides. Vortexes can also be areas where you are able to channel creativity and find inspiration and messages.

I spent time at each vortex, taking in the experience, channeling Reiki, bringing in the Earth Energy and releasing the combined energy back into the cosmos.

I visited a Sacred Oak Tree vortex, several of the main vortexes at Lily Dale, and my personal energetic vortex at one of the Great Lakes.

My family and I went to each vortex and discussed our experiences in regard to sight, sense, smell, sound, images, or physical sensations. Each area offered us a unique experience.

In general, we knew the location for each of the vortexes. However, there are several ways to try and find the center and boundaries. A pendulum, or, dowsing rods can be two instruments that help you locate a vortex. I relied upon Reiki and started channeling Reiki energy before getting too close to the vortex. I wanted to be able to experience shifts in my energetic body.

All of the places that we visited were in areas where we were surrounded by nature. Nature Spirits were plentiful as were the signs from birds, butterflies, bees, and squirrels. In each vortex the animals seemed louder, more brilliantly colored, and made movements to draw attention to themselves. They brought forth messages from the Nature Spirits. I also noticed many orbs in the photos that I took.

Only two of the vortexes caused us physical sensations. My son and I both felt a heaviness in our chest as though something was pressing down upon us. It wasn’t uncomfortable but we were also, at the same time, experiencing heightened senses, so it was overwhelming.

We felt peaceful, calm, and often called to meditate in these locations. Time felt slightly different. We weren’t in a rush. Each, in our own way, slowed down and connected to the place. We opened ourselves up to the energy, but also kept an awareness, so that we could later discuss our experiences.

Sharing Reiki with the energy of the vortex was often based on visualization as there was often not a central focus. I made a connection to the ground beneath me, where the vortex energy swirls, grounded myself, and invited Reiki in as a white light of healing energy. While I was absorbing energy from the Earth, I was also trying to offer Reiki as a reciprocal gift exchange.

The Sacred Oak Tree and the Great Lake vortexes, of course, did have a specific focal point for sharing energy. In those…
