8 Self-Care Tips to Stay Energized During World Crisis

We are going through challenging times – the news has been tenuous and overwhelming. How do we keep shining while continuously illuminate and help heal the ills of the world? As energy workers and likely empaths, we feel the suffering and pain around us. We have been blessed with the loving energy of Reiki, and we give treatments, on and off the clock, paid and unpaid.

It is a noble privilege.

It is also vital that we sustain ourselves so that we can keep contributing and lift each other.

Adequate rest and staying inspired energize me to give. Without either, I can sink and stew in complaining, resenting, or even despair. We are humans and have feelings. As healers and lightworkers we get to have dark moments and hurting hearts. The key is not to stay there for long.

Good self-care includes knowing our own rhythms, acting upon our needs, relaxation and sleep, connecting to our inner world, growing from experiences, and nurturing our mind and heart. Commit to keep yourself well and it will pay off.

8 Self-Care Tips to Stay Energized During World Crisis

Here are 8 tips to tend to the mind, body, and spirit. Pick 2 that resonate and dedicate some attention to them:

1. Develop a regular body routine

Our body grounds us and helps us stay present. Stretch, do yoga poses, perform grounding. Ask for protection from Archangel (AA) Michael, healing from AA Raphael, spread of light from AA Gabriel, and Reiki to clear all chakras. Lastly, observe yourself with non-judgment and affirmation. “Right now, I feel [emotional state] and it’s okay. I love myself. I am safe and well.”

2. Hydrate and cleanse with lemon/ACV first thing in the morning

Replenish the body with fluids after sleep. This drink contains vitamin C, helps to balance our pH, and flushes out the toxins. (Great for the skin too.) Mix juice from half of a freshly squeezed lemon, ½ to 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (ACV), and 28 oz. water. On cold days mix the lemon and ACV with 16 oz of room temperature water first, then 16 oz. of hot water to make the drink warm and soothing for the body. Reiki the water with healthy affirmations before drinking it.

3. Daily walks and being with nature

Just going outside counts! Take at least 10 minutes for a walk – barefoot on grass, feel the breeze, observe leaves dance in the wind, smell the flowers, and listen to the birds. Use Reiki to send appreciation to all beings.

4. Relaxation and detox

Take weekly Epsom salt bubble bath with lavender or rose oil. Soak for at least 40 minutes for toxins to exit the body. The magnesium in the Epsom salt relaxes the muscles. After the bath, exfoliate dead skin cells in the shower. As you do that, invoke Reiki and intend to let go of what no longer serves you.

5. Remind yourself what fulfills you

In a quiet place, recall one positive impact you have had on someone. How does it make you feel? What made it positive? Meditate with Reiki and connect to your heart chakra – hold the person you were kind to and…
