Easy Front Door Feng Shui Tips for Attracting Wealth and New Beginnings!

Sharing is caring!

In feng shui, the front door is one of the most important areas in your home.

It’s where all energy (Chi) enters your home, which means it’s how opportunity, luck, wealth, and good fortune enter your home!

Once that fresh energy enters your home, it begins to circulate throughout your life, helping you bring all of the good things you want to fruition!

This is the basic premise of feng shui – the energy circulating throughout your home will circulate throughout your life.

This is why the front door is the first thing you should pay attention to when it comes to using feng shui in your home.

Which door is considered your front door in feng shui?

In feng shui, the front door is considered the traditional front door of your home.  The one that is on the front of your home.

Even if you use another door more often (like your garage door, or side door, or back door), for energy (chi) purposes, the front door is the one on the front of the house, usually facing the street.

Note: If you live in an apartment, condo, or a home that doesn’t have an outside front door, or you can’t do anything about the area on the outside of your door, you can still use these feng shui front door tips on the *inside* of your door! Choose the ones that work best and your home will still have excellent front door feng shui!

Here are the best feng shui front door tips:

1: Paint it a color you love!

In Western Feng Shui, you don’t have to worry about painting your front door red or some other “lucky” color.

Instead, you want to use a color you love!

My front door is a light teal color and it makes me smile every time I think about it.

It’s my very favorite.

If you’d like to welcome bright, happy energy into your home, paint it so that you are happy every time you see it.

If you don’t have a favorite color, you can also choose a front door color based on its feng shui meaning. Check out this post for more information: The Luckiest Feng Shui Front Door Colors [+ Their Meanings!]

2: Clean your front door often!

You can mix a little salt with the water (and a few drops of essential oils, if you’d like!) which helps clear the energy.

While you’re wiping it down, think about removing all of the stagnant, built-up energy.

Visualize new, happy energy entering your home.

3: Keep your porch dirt and dust-free.

Sweep the dirt away from your home so that the old energy doesn’t enter your home.

Also, don’t forget to shake the dirt out of your welcome mat!

4: Add a Welcome Mat

Also, think about the symbolism when you choose one — for example, funny “Unless you’re Ryan Gosling or Amazon – go away” mats are hilarious, but not necessarily welcoming. 😉

Think about your mat as the first thing new energy and opportunity see when it comes to your door, and choose one that makes you happy but doesn’t have negative connotations. 😉

5: Add a wreath or other type of happy decoration.

I like to find inexpensive wreaths and decorations in the Target dollar spot, or even seasonal ones at Michaels with a coupon.

That way I can switch out my decorations whenever I feel like it.

Remember to choose one that you love and replace it if it starts to fade or get dirty and gross.

6: Add plants to your porch to attract abundance and new beginnings.

Plants are wood element energy, which means growth and opportunity.

Again, choose plants you love!

You can also place a jade plant on your porch, or inside of your entryway, which is a traditional feng shui lucky plant.   Check out this post for more feng shui lucky front door plants!

7: Create safety and welcoming energy.

This means – don’t have things obstructing your front door or hanging down over you as you enter your home.

Also, think about keeping cactus or other spiky plants away from the entrance.

Spiky “dangerous” plants can have a protective quality, which might be fine if you live on a busy street or need extra protection at home to feel safe.

But if things seem to not be happening in your life as quickly as you’d like them to, consider moving them away from the entrance.

8: Add a hollow, metal wind chime.

Wind chimes help stir up the chi (energy), and the sounds help attract new energy and vibration.

Make sure you pick one you like and don’t choose one just because it’s “lucky for feng shui.” 😉 Check out this post for more information about feng shui wind chimes.

9: Add a fountain to your front yard or front entry.

Fountains represent good energy flowing, so make sure if the…
