Your Own Healing Brings Healing to Others

Learning how to give Reiki to yourself, and to others, is certainly an exciting time. The first bit of advice is to do Reiki frequently, especially self-treatments. This does not mean you need to carve an hour out of your schedule. It may be difficult to find a free hour, even within a week’s time. It is more important to give yourself Reiki daily, even for a brief 10-15 minutes. The Reiki energies will bring calmness, peace and healing into your life, and it will provide guidance in your work. Reiki assists us in our own healing journeys. As we participate in our own healing, we are more available to support others during their healing journeys.

Another important aspect is to remember you are not responsible for directing the Reiki energies. It has a wisdom of its own, and it will go to the root cause of an issue that needs to be healed. You are the facilitator – the one channeling the healing energies. You do not need to figure out what the issue is, although you may receive some impressions during the session. Trust that Reiki works and will bring healing to the receiver wherever it is needed. In fact, I think the best thing we practitioners can do is get out of the way and simply allow Reiki to heal!

Being a Reiki practitioner is a calling, an essential task in today’s challenging world. There are many opportunities to bring in healing, from working with ourselves, clients, our local communities and the global community. Be creative and send Reiki to any intention you think would benefit.
