feng shui tips for a new start in the new year!

Here are feng shui new year tips you can use in 2021 (or whenever you’re looking for a new beginning!)

One: Make a list of the things you want to let go of in your life and home.

  • List everything out that you’d like to leave behind in the old year.
  • Take a few minutes to brainstorm everything you’d like to change.
  • List everything you want to let go of.
  • List all of the negative feelings and frustrations and bad habits.
  • List everything in your home that holds negative energy for you and what you’d like to do with it.

Really take the time to purge all of these things out of your brain and body.

Two:  Now that you have the list, it’s time to get rid of it!

You can burn it or rip it into little pieces and throw it away.

If you are going to burn it, make sure you use a fire safe dish and take it outside so that you aren’t inhaling the smoke!

Otherwise, you can tear it into tiny little pieces.

Either way, while you are getting rid of the list, visualize everything on it being released to the Universe.

Three: Refresh your space with feng shui!

It’s time to refresh your space and purge the old energy that was associated with all of those negative things.

  • Remove anything you can remove.
  • Take out the trash.
  • Declutter.
  • Throw out or repair broken items.

If there were a lot of things on that list, take action on the things you can.

And let that be enough for now.

But do SOMETHING to get rid of the items that are holding the negative energy.  Even if you have to remove them to the garage for now.

Do something to physically change the things you can change.

Next, deep clean.

When you clean with intention, it moves the Chi (life force energy) in your home (and in your aura!)

Cleaning things removes the stagnant, old Chi and makes room for fresh energy!

Don’t forget to clean under your bed to refresh your personal energy.

And deep clean your bathroom (where stagnant, yucky Chi tends to stick the most!)

Also use a broom or duster and sweep through the corners and ceiling to remove the old energy.

If you don’t have time to clean your whole home before the new year, focus on these four areas:

  • Your front door
  • Your bathroom
  • Your bedroom
  • Your kitchen

Next. open your windows to let in fresh, new energy!

Even if it’s just for 10 minutes, this stirs up the Chi and lets in brand new, fresh start energy!

Finally, it’s time to smudge!

Now that you’ve cleared the energy in your home, it’s time to focus on what you want for the new year!

One: make a wish list.

Take out a piece of paper and write down everything you’d like to create in the new year.

If you really feel inspired, you can even make a feng shui vision board!

But if you’re doing this quickly, just take out a piece of paper and write down everything you’d like to create.

Write it in red ink to give it even more manifesting and feng shui fire energy power!

Two: Anchor the list with feng shui.

Once you’ve written down your intentions for the new year, or created a feng shui vision board, it’s time to anchor in those intentions.

Sit for a few minutes and really feel all of the new intentions happening in your life.

Think of it this way: Someone coming up to you and handing you everything on your list.

How does that feel?

Feel those feelings for a few minutes.

Set the intention of the Universe giving you everything you want and taking care of all of the little details.

Trust that if you can see it in your mind, you can have it in your life.

This or something better.

And then release it to the Universe to take care of.

Now that you’ve felt the feelings, it’s time to anchor them into your space.

Here’s a feng shui candle ritual to set your intentions!

Take the list you’ve written (or if you’ve made a vision board, take a scrap of paper and write a brief list of the most important items in red ink.)

Place it under a candle.

Light the candle every day for the next 9 days.

Even if it’s just for a few minutes, light the candle and feel the feelings of the Universe bringing you these things.
