Gorgeous Whipped Body Butter

Have you ever thought of making your own skin care products? I always used to think that its super hard but in reality it is easy and fun. I’ve been recently doing a lot of home-made products and I have one of my favorite recipe which I will share with you here.

It is so nice and soft, velvet on the touch, when applied after the bath it just melts on the skin. It is quickly absorbed, super moisturizing and nourishing for the skin. And it looks yummy by the way!

I believe everybody knows how beneficial Shea Butter is. It is highly moisturizing, nourishing, healing and just perfect for the skin, especially if you have dry skin or skin conditions like dermatitis, eczema or psoriasis. Shea Butter is perfect to alleviate the sun damage or burns on the skin.

Another my favorite ingredient is Coconut Butter. It gives such a silky and smooth texture to the butter. And of course it has its own healing and moisturizing properties. By the way, I found coconut butter really helpful during my second pregnancy to moisturize the skin on the abdomen. Of course if you can stand the aroma as during pregnancy you become very sensitive towards everything. The alternative to the coconut oil would be Palm Kernel Oil which is also giving to the butter such a gorgeous texture.

And finally my third and most used ingredient – Jojoba wax (or jojoba oil as it is sometimes called). This is one of the best oil for the skin as it resembles our own body sebum by its molecular structure. Jojoba wax is highly penetrating and can be even used instead of moisturizer.

I really love to enhance the butter with essential oils. It’s not only giving this wonderful aroma that can help you to relax after a busy day, uplift your mood, bring back the memory and feelings, but it also promotes the healthy appearance of a skin.

Whipped Body Butter

Ingredients:

60 g unrefined Shea butter
30 ml jojoba wax
30 ml coconut oil
30 drops of Lavender essential oils
10 drops of Geranium essential oil

You will need: stirax glass, scale, hand blender, glass jar, silicon spatula.

How to make:

1. When the water is boiling place in a double boiler jojoba wax and coconut oil (these two can tolerate heat easily), stir. Then add up Shea butter, and watch it carefully, when you see it’s almost melted take off from the double boiler and stir until it’s fully melted.

2. Either keep it for a couple of hours outside to cool down or place it in a fridge for about an hour until it starts to solidify. When the mixture is semisolid start blending until it’s white and creamy and looks like you want to eat it.

3. Add the essential oils and keep on blending for another 5-10 minutes until its all fluffy.

4. Place the body butter in a container and enjoy it soft velvet texture on your skin and beautiful relaxing aroma.

This body butter is so good to apply on a slightly wet skin after the bath, and the aroma is so nice and calming and feminine. It can also make a perfect gift.
