How To Make Facial Oil At Home

Hi girls, today it’s a natural beauty care post. I love my little DIY beauty routine and of course I’m always happy to share it with others. Either by having a tea/coffee at home with my girlfriends and meanwhile making a face mask, or trying to master a face massage, or making a scrub.

Today I want to share my super easy and fast to do facial oil. The benefit of making yourself a facial oil is that you know exactly what you put in it and you can customize it according to your taste and preferences.

I already did a post about my top picks of base oils which are perfect even on its own, but I always like to add a few drops of essential oils in my facial oil to enhance the benefits.

I started using all these type of home remedies about 2 years ago when for some unknown reason (either reaction on mineral cream or because I stopped using the one I used for long time, who knows) my skin on a face became extremely dry and flaky.

And honestly speaking, all of these home remedies which I remember from childhood from my mom and grandma, not only helped me to revitalize my skin back to normal but also improved the texture and color. Since then I love, love, love making DIY beauty masks and facial oils.

You don’t really have to use a lot of essential oils, which makes it a perfect budget product. Generally for the face it’s recommended to keep the concentration between 0.5-1.5% which makes it 1-5 drops of essential oils total for 15 ml (1/2 oz) of base. So I tend to stick with low ratio.

Let’s get it started. You will need 15 ml (1/2 oz) glass dropper bottle, base oils and essential oils if you wish. You can customize it according to your preferences or just simply try my recipe.

  • 5 ml argan oil
  • 5 ml rosehip oil
  • 5 ml jojoba oil
  • 1 drop of lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops of frankincense essential oil
  • 2 drops of carrot seed essential oil

Mix it together in a glass bottle and apply either together with your moisturizer, or before. Sometimes I just use the face oil on it’s own. Also it’s great to apply it by just tapping it into the skin. Also a tiny amount is usually enough and it lasts me for 1-2 months.

Argan oil is very light and fast absorbed oil, very softening for the skin and helps to maintain skin’s natural elasticity. Rosehip oil has fantastic anti-aging and healing properties. Jojoba wax is very close to our own sebum (our natural skin oil) and is very nourishing.

Lavender helps to support naturally healthy skin and is a great choice for sensitive skin.

Frankincense has been used in cosmetic preparations since ancient Egypt, is very gentle in its actions and is great for supporting young looking skin.

Carrot Seed is one of my favorite essential oils to use for facial…
