Simple Advice that Most Novice Healers Ignore

My best advice for novice healers is simple: Don’t overcomplicate things. At the root of healing is simplicity. Our minds tend to get in the way and make things much more complex than they are. If you are thinking and doing a lot, you might need to let go of some things.

Practice. Maintain your own self-healing practice. Even if that looks a little different from day to day, take the time to be still for a few minutes and tune in to your body, your heart, and your breath. Place your hands on your body. It is very grounding, and it’s such a loving gesture to offer ourselves. Don’t get caught up in the hand positions. You can simply place your hands anywhere that feels comfortable as you sit peacefully and breathe for a few minutes. This is enough.

As you can see, these two bits of advice interweave with each other. Ultimately, our healing practice is a practice of self-healing work that lasts a lifetime. All else that arises from that is part of walking that path. Despite any ideas we may have when we start on the path, we can’t know what the journey will look like or where it will lead us. We only commit to continuing to do our own self-healing and see where that takes us as it unfolds.
